Shade like a Pro

This weekend we had a class about shading. Alhamdulilah, students learned a lot how to use shading to make an object look more 3D and to have form in their artwork.

Below are the different classes we had, pictures and extra assignments you can do at home.

November 21, 2015 – 9:00 – 10:30 – 2 students

  • Creative drawing techniques
  • Contour shading techniques
  • Inking
  • Artist Pen
  • Using shade/value to represent form
  • Lighting demonstartion
  • Overlapping shapes
  • Tracing technique
  • Blob assignement

  • Introduction to 3D forms
  • Drawing from modelling putty
  • Values making form

November 22, 2015 – 2:30 – 4:00 – 2 students

  • Using modelling putty
  • Defining form using value / shading
  • Drawing from still life
  • Observing light changes in their still life
  • Different shading techniques
  • Behavior management
  • Mannerism while learning
